軟口蓋過長症や外鼻腔狭窄、気管低形成、咽頭虚脱などが単独、もしくは複数で起こる短頭種特有の病気です。この病気が原因で生活が難しくなってしまう場合には、外科手術を行います。予防のためには、高温多湿を避けた環境作りも重要です。

運動時間が減ったことにより、体力・筋力が衰えたり、体重が増加したりしないよう気を付けてください。
